Dress Rental and Sizing

Where are the dresses from?

Dresses are sourced internationally from designers themselves or affiliated accredited sources to ensure that all dresses are authentic.

Will I need to press the dress upon arrival?

Each dress is steamed and pressed before it is delivered to you. Rentals will be delivered in a garment box, whilst try-ons will be delivered in a garment bag. Heavily beaded, delicate and embellished pieces will be lined with sheets to prevent snagging. Although we do our best to ensure your dresses arrive wrinkle-free, we cannot guarantee that the dresses arrive crease-free as there will be some movement during transportation.

Do I need to clean the dress before returning it?

Nope. Leave the dry-cleaning to us! All you need to do is re-pack the garment into the box it arrived.

Can you alter the dress for me?

No, we do not make alterations to the dresses as we aim to preserve the dress in as original its state as possible. However, we do offer to make simple alterations to the dress’ length to suit your height, depending on whether these alterations may be made to the dress without causing any damage.

How do I pick a dress with the right fit and size?

May I try on the dresses elsewhere instead of the showroom?

Yes you may. We charge RM25 per dress for try-ons. You may try on as many dresses at a time, for up to 24 hours before returning them, subject to their availability on your selected dates and subject to Terms and Conditions.

What if the dress I rented does not fit?

Ultimately, we would recommend you to either book for a showroom appointment, or opt for Try On prior renting the dress of our site. In events that the dress does not fit as expected, please call to inform us and make arrangements to return the dress immediately. Do return the dress with the tag still attached. Our stylist will contact you to get your measurements and sizing details in order to suggest a better fitting dress and a suitable replacement will be sent to you. If there are no replacement dresses available in your size, we will provide you a full refund on the rental price of the dress.

I am still deciding if I want to take the dress I am interested or not. Can you reserve the dress for me?

Unfortunately, we can’t fulfill this as our dresses are rented out on a first-come-first-serve basis. In the event that the dress that you wish to rent is not available on your  preferred date, feel free to contact our Customer Care team here, and we will do our best to have your worries sorted out!

I need to change the dress I have rented last minute, am I allowed to do that?

Yes you are allowed to do that. You may switch the dress that you have rented before this with another dress, depending on the availability. You are advised to opt for dresses that shares the same Rental value or a higher value dress, as any Rental amount discrepancies will not be refunded.

For instance, if you have rented Dress A (rental value RM300), and would like to switch to Dress B (rental value RM270). Once you have decided to go ahead with switching to Dress B, the RM30 credit value will not be refunded.

Delivery and Returns

How will the dress be delivered to me and how much will it cost?

Within KL and Klang Valley: Rentals will be packed in either a box or garment bag (depending on the dress), and will be delivered by a dispatch team. Using the RAD Service for deliver and/or pickup will be RM12, however if you opt to not use it at all (i.e. self pickup AND self dropoff), we will refund the RM12 once we have received the dress(es) back. 

Beyond KL and Klang Valley: Rentals will be packed in a box, and will be delivered via a courier service. For deliveries within West Malaysia, delivery charges are RM12 one way. For deliveries to East Malaysia, delivery charges are RM15 one way. Note: all return deliveries and cost must be arranged and borne by the customer.

How do I return the dress to you?

Within KL and Klang Valley: After the dress is worn, please place the dress into the garment box or bag it was delivered in. We will collect the dress from you at the address provided when your order was first placed.

Should there be any changes (pick up address & method), kindly email us at least one day before the return due date (cut-off time is 3pm) to inform of these changes and we will make arrangements accordingly.

Beyond KL and Klang Valley: After the dress is worn, please place the dress into the garment box it was delivered in. Please post the dress back to Rent A Dress latest by the final day of rental. Note: all return deliveries and cost must be arranged and borne by the customer.

Can I specify the timing of receiving/returning the dress?

Our deliveries and pickups are usually between 11am-4pm but as we’re currently using third party dispatch service, hence we can’t grasp the exact timing our dispatch will be able to reach you. You may notify us on a timing (eg: before 1pm, after 3pm etc), and our logistics team will try our best in arranging them to accommodate to your needs. 

Will there be reminder sent for my dress?

Yes! An email reminder will be sent to you one day prior your dress delivery as well as returns.

Payment

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payment through Stripe, PayPal, bank transfer and all major credit and debit cards.

When will my card be charged?

Your card will be charged when you place a rental order.

What are the extra charges at checkout?

  1. Shipping: This is our delivery fee for getting our dresses to you, fast and fuss-free!
  2. Deposit: A security deposit of RM150 will be charged if you have opted for Bank Transfer. This security deposit will be returned to you within 3- 5 working days once we receive the dress back from you. In order to ensure the refund process can be completed smoothly, kindly provide us your Bank Details (Bank Name, Account Name, Account Number)  by emailing us at customercare@rentadress.com.my or simply replying to the e-receipt that you would have received from us.

Cancellation Policy

I’ve changed my mind and would like to cancel my rental. Will I be charged for it?

For orders placed on 24 March 2017 or before,

If cancellation is made more than 72 hours prior to delivery date, cancellation is free of charge and a full refund will be given.

If cancellation is made  48 hours prior to  rental date, we will refund 50% of the rental fee.  

If cancellation is made within 24 hours prior to the rental date, we will refund 20% of the rental fee.

For orders made on 25 March 2017 or after,

If cancellation is made more than 24 hours prior to delivery date, full credit refund will be given.

If cancellation is made less than 24 hours prior to delivery date, RM50 cancellation fee will be imposed, and the remaining balance will be refunded via credit.

Additional Charges & Penalties

Will I be charged extra for hemming services?

If you require hemming to alter the length of the dress, an additional fee of RM30 will be charged to cover this service.

What if I return my item(s) late?

A late-return fee of RM50 per day will be charged for each day the dress is not returned after the due date. If the dress is not returned after one week (seven days), a fee of 150% of the retail price and corresponding sales tax, less the rental fee and total delay fees; will be charged.

I would like to extend my rental. How much will that cost me?

If you wish to extend rental, we charge a daily fee of RM50. We do have an 8-day Rental option, hence if you wish to keep the dress for more than 4 days, kindly opt for the 8 days Rental option.

What happens to the dresses that are damaged?

Each dress is inspected thoroughly to ensure that it is in good condition before it is delivered to you. The dresses will be inspected again for damage upon return. During inspection, we look out for tears, loose threading, odors and stains. We accept minor wear and tear (eg. stains that can be removed, unnoticeable snags, loose beading & embroidery, etc.). We will charge you for any extensive and irreparable damage.

In the case of loss of product and/or extensive and irreparable damage, we will unfortunately need to charge you 1.5 times the retail cost of the dress (as per the retail price stated on the product page).

Don’t worry, we will not charge you until we have agreement from both parties on the cost!

What if the dress is missing?

Once you have signed off on the receipt for the registered post, the dress is in your care and responsibility. You will be charged the retail cost of the dress if it is lost during this period. The responsibility for the dress passes back to the dispatch or courier service upon return of the dress during pick-up.

I would like to keep the dress. What may I do?

We do not currently allow for the sale of our dresses and garments. Late fees and a charge of 150% of retail price will be charged upon non-return of the dress.
